About The Event
The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is excited to be back for the second Buddy Run, the Anti-Bullying Fun Run. The Buddy Run is a family based event, including a 1km fun run for children, which promotes the themes of inclusion, respect and saying no to bullying
The event will be held on Sunday 20th October 2019 at Yarra Park in Melbourne
We are welcoming participants on site from 10am to enjoy the activities in the “Event Village” with the Fun Run starting from 11am.
Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Prepare for Melbourne’s “four seasons in one day” forecast. We also encourage you to wear purple to represent saying no to bullying.
Yes! Runners are encouraged to have fun and wear all things purple. Accessories, wigs, tutus – we would love for you to show off your creative side. We only ask that your outfit is safe to run in and will not be a hazard to yourself or other participants
We regret that participants cannot take part in the event or enter the “Event Village” with any animals with the exception of Assistance Dogs.
Yes, prams are welcome. All participants who are bringing a pram/pushchair should follow instructions given by the Event Manager and officials on the day to include starting the event at the back of the walkers to ease congestion.
No, unfortunately we will not have anywhere for you to store personal belongings. You will have to look after your own belongings. Please do not bring anything valuable.
The “Event Village” is located in Yarra Park, between Jolimont Station and the MCG. It will be filled with fun activities for everyone to enjoy before and after the run.
Portable toilets will be located close to the “Event Village”. Please check your map and the signs for directions.
First Aid will be located in the “Event Village” and along the course.
Yes, there will be a water station in the “Event Village” for you to fill up your water bottle.
In Melbourne, it’s common to experience four seasons in one day! The run will take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. In the case of severe weather, all participants will receive a notification that the event has been cancelled via SMS and/or email.
The course is 1km, which can be ran or walked.
The run will begin at 11am, however there may be staggered start times due to capacity limits. Start times will be communicated to you via your Event Pack and by email prior to the day.
Yes. There will be a fun and upbeat warm up for the whole family to participate in. It will definitely get you pumped and ready to run!
No, there are no technical time restrictions. However, we do ask you are mindful of public park users.

All attendees for this event are required to register. It is important for health and safety reasons that we do not exceed the maximum capacity for the event site.
Once registered your registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. However if you are unable to attend then please inform us before the event and we will change your entry fee to a direct donation to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

Early bird registrations close on 11:59pm AEST Saturday 31 August 2019. Online registrations for the Buddy Run event closes at 12pm AEST Saturday 19 October 2019.
Registration packs will be sent to all participants who register before 12am AEST Sunday 13 October 2019. All participants who register after 12am AEST Sunday 13 October 2019 will need to pick up their registration pack from the enquiries tent at the event village on the day of the event (Sunday 20 October 2019) at Yarra Park.
As part of your registration you will receive a fundraising page via Everyday Hero. You can use this page to fundraise for the Buddy Run.

All monies raised from the event go to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.
The Foundation’s programs care for children who have experienced or witnessed serious violence; reduce the incidence of bullying, cyber bullying and other cyber risks; and, advocate for the safety and wellbeing of children.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
